Located in the Square du Temple–a stone’s throw from Le Marché des Enfants Rouges–The Broken Arm offers great coffee in a trendy and quirky retail setting. As the café component of The Broken Arm concept store, this hip establishment with a distinctly Scandinavian vibe has gathered a faithful following since opening in 2012.

Originally sourcing beans from Norwegian roasters Solberb & Hansen, The Broken Arm café has recently started working with Café Lomi, with a custom blend currently being developed. Local and international baristas like Melody, who hails all the way from coffee-crazed Seattle, are kind, friendly and dedicated to the cause, treating their Marzocco machine like a loyal, lifelong friend. The coffee, available to stay or to go, meets the expected standards of Paris’ new coffee scene.

With a selection of original and tasty dishes on offer, lunchtime can be a bit of a rush, as crowds flock in to get their hands on menu items that reflect the innovative spirit of the concept store, including swordfish tartare and beet(root) carpaccio. Homemade desserts and Mast Brothers chocolates will keep your coffee company once lunch is over. For those arriving in the morning, a small but decent selection of breakfast options, including the usual pastries, cookies and fresh fruit/veggie juices, should keep you satisfied.

The cute ceramic cups, coupled with the minimalistic presentation of the food, reflect the fact that The Broken Arm café fits right into the overall feel of the boutique. Simple but intricate, cool but original, everything in this place highlights the meticulous design and artistic precision put into what you see.
